Between 25 February and 9 April, the cities of Timișoara, Cluj-Napoca and Iași hosted the 2025 edition of the ‘Romania Builds’ Regional Conferences, part of the only national network of events dedicated to the construction sector in Romania. This year’s theme, ‘The Culture of Building’, explored the values, practices and innovations that define the way we build, with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, digital transformation and technological progress.
The first regional conference opened the series of debates on responsible urban development and the integration of modern technologies in both public and private construction. Participants analyzed local examples of urban regeneration and residential projects that promote energy efficiency and collaboration between public authorities and the private sector.
The Cluj-Napoca edition brought to the forefront architectural innovation and the digitalization of the building process. Discussions focused on how aesthetics, functionality and social responsibility can coexist in sustainable projects that are adapted to contemporary needs.
The final conference of the year focused on infrastructure development and industrial and logistics investments that support regional competitiveness. Major projects from Moldova were presented, along with public–private collaboration models that contribute to transforming local spaces and communities.
Each conference offered complementary perspectives on how Romania is redefining its cities, infrastructure, living and working spaces, retail and industrial centers — demonstrating that real progress in construction is built on collaboration, innovation and a shared vision.
