Projects

Smart School
📍 Russia
The vision for the Smart School project is to create a new type of school – a “School Park” – that unites architecture and landscape into a unique learning environment and gathering point for the local community. The design of the project is based on a both unifying and expanding concept that bridges between school complex, nature and modern society.

Sleuk Rith Institute
📍 Cambodia
The Sleuk Rith Institute, a new institution and genocide memorial in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, brings together a museum, research
centre, graduate school,
document archives and research library. The Sleuk Rith Institute was founded as a focus for reflection, healing and reconciliation as well as an enlightening educational and research facility.

Future Campus, University
📍 Ireland
As part of the Future Campus masterplan, a new Centre for Creative Design building was designed as a kick-starter for connectedness; it acts as a flexible platform that fosters serendipitous knowledge sharing and engenders a culture of engagement within UCD’s community

Lushan Primary
School
📍 China
Lushan Primary School will be
an educational institute for 120
children located 160km northwest of Nanchang, the capital of
Jiangxi Province, and serve 12
local villages with a total
population of about 1,800
people.

Saunalahti School
📍 Finland
Saunalahti school is the focal point of the new residential area of Saunalahti, an active and open platform for learning, culture and communality. The heart of the building is the multi-purpose dining hall, the meeting place for all users. Massive concrete walls and the smoothly curving oak ceiling characterize the space.

Almazov National Research Centre
📍 Russia
UNStudio’s design proposal for the Almazov National Research Centre is focused, first and foremost on creating, curating and cultivating a community. As such, every design featured across the campus was chosen and tailored with this communal future in mind, for researchers, students and staff.

Business School for the Creative Industries
📍 UK
Designed to encourage interaction and collaboration, as well as blur the hierarchical boundaries between faculty and students, the main inspiration for the project is modelled on the concept of the historical ‘salon’: a place where everyone can gather to debate, share opinions.

Aalto University
📍 Finland
The new Aalto University Väre Building is the focal point of Aalto Campus in Otaniemi. The campus was planned originally for Helsinki University of Technology by architect Alvar Aalto and is internationally known for the 20th century functionalist architecture.
